Scott Schumacher

Scott Schumacher is an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Law, where he teaches in the areas of taxation, advocacy, and professional responsibility.

He is also the Director of the Law School's Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. Prior to joining the faculty, he was an attorney with Chicoine & Hallett, P.S., in Seattle, Washington, where his practice focused on tax controversy and litigation.

He also served as a Trial Attorney with the United States Department of Justice Tax Division, and he was an Attorney-Advisor to the Chief Judge Arthur L. Nims III of the United States Tax Court.

He is admitted to the Washington State Bar, the Bar of the U.S. Supreme Court, and numerous federal courts of appeal.
