Roger Leishman

Roger Leishman is one of the more experienced gay rights litigators in the United States. He is an attorney with the national law firm Davis Wright Tremaine, where he maintains a successful commercial trial litigation and appellate practice, with special emphasis on intellectual property and other complex civil litigation.

He is co-counsel in Castle v. Washington, currently before the Washington Supreme Court, in which the Thurston County Superior ruled that the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage violates the Washington Constitution.

From 1995-2000, Roger was Director of the Lesbian and Gay Rights Project at the ACLU of Illinois, and now serves on the Board of Directors of the ACLU of Washington.
