Michael King

Michael King is co-chair of the Appellate Department of Lane Powell Spears Lubersky. Mike has argued over 70 appeals, and has been selected as an appellate "Super Lawyer" by Washington Law & Politics Magazine for the past four years (2001-2004).

Michael regularly chairs and speaks at national and local appellate practice seminars. He recently completed a two year term as chair of the Appellate Advocacy Committee of the Chicago-based Defense Research Institute.

In 2001 Michael chaired the Committee's third Appellate Advocacy Seminar, held in San Francisco, whose faculty included Professor Alan Morrison (co-founder of the Public Citizen Litigation Group), Michael Carver (co-counsel for George W. Bush in the Bush v. Gore litigations), and Michael Wallace (personal counsel to Majority Leader Trent Lott during the Senate trial of President Clinton).

Michael has also co-chaired the Appellate Practice Committee of the Federal Bar Association of the Western District of Washington, and is a member of the Amicus Committee of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers.
