Public Speaking CLE Seminar

Max Dixon

Max Dixon

Max Dixon brings rare assets to CLE. After attending a leading law school, he switched to a career in professional theater.

Following years of acting, directing and teaching on the East Coast, Max spent ten years teaching in the University of Washington's well-known Professional Actors' Training Program, where he was (among other things) the principal improvisation and movement coach. He was best-known for his Shakespearean work.

Since leaving UW, Max has become internationally-renowned as a keynote speaker and professional communication coach. Among his many gifts is a rare, comforting ability to find a speaker's natural gifts, and to strengthen those - while still making improvements.

One of his first private clients, country singer Trisha Yearwood, thanked Max like this:

"Thanks, Max, for giving me the courage to be me."

Author and speaker Bill Bachrach expressed his gratitude for Max's coaching this way:

"One of the most powerful outcomes was how you influenced the way I experience my audience, which is clearly positively influencing how they experience me. I can see it in their expression, I can hear it in their responses, and I can feel it every moment we are together."

"...I have organized your notes so I can easily review them before every speech, which helps me to continue to implement more and more of your wisdom."

Although Max is among the most gentle and sensitive of teachers, he prefers to work only with professionals who truly want to break out of the pack - to leave mediocrity behind - to move forward toward better expressing themselves, and communicating exactly what they mean to communicate. If you want to improve a lot soon, Max is the coach for you.

And if you choose to work with Max, be assured of one thing: You will never be bored.

Max mixes lecture, discussion, debate, Q&A, and debriefing in a creative way. And he offers on-the-spot coaching for any student who requests it (and only if they request it - no one will be forced into a coaching situation, or will otherwise be embarrassed at all).

Max will be pleased to help you prepare for your next speech, pitch - or any other event.
