THE JUDGES
The Honorable Steven Gonzalez
is a Judge of the King County Superior Court, and was the Washington State Hispanic Bar Association's 2001 Outstanding Lawyer of the Year. Before his elevation to the bench, Judge Gonzalez served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, winning the Department of Justice's Superior Performance Award, and the Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service.
He also served the City of Seattle as a prosecutor, and he spent several years practicing in major law firms in Seattle and San Francisco. Judge Gonzalez has lived and studied overseas, and speaks four languages.
The Honorable Palmer Robinson
is a King County Superior Court Judge. Before her elevation to the bench, Judge Robinson was a shareholder of Carney Badley Smith & Spellman for 15 years.
Before that, she served as an in-house trial attorney for a major insurance company. She was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates and the International Association of Insurance Counsel, and listed in "Best Lawyers in America."
THE EXPERTS
Jay Syverson
a seasoned computer animator, has long been held in high esteem by both plaintiffs' and defense litigators, and his services are engaged in a wide spectrum of cases. He is a professional still and video photographer, computer animator and expert witness.
He applies his skills in several aspects of litigation, including accident reconstructions, scene documentation, "day-in-the-life" video production, and video settlement brochures. He speaks frequently to attorneys, and has taught at the Department of Justice National Advocacy Center.
The American College of Trial Lawyers currently uses Jay's computer animation materials in its training courses.
Stanley Owings
is an experienced vocational rehabilitation expert. He holds degrees in psychology and vocational rehabilitation, and was named "Outstanding Alumnus" by the University of Wisconsin's Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute.
He is a certified disability management specialist, and board-certified by the American Board of Vocational Experts. Before founding his consulting practice, he worked for the Washington Department of Labor & Industries.
