Karl Ege

Karl Ege joined Russell in January 1992 as general counsel and is a member of Russell's operating committee.
Karl is responsible for managing the legal department, advising the Russell companies' new business ventures, international operations and capital markets activities, and supervising compliance by all Russell business units with governmental and self-regulatory organizations' requirements. He also oversees the firm's world-wide internal audit, governmental affairs, and risk management functions.
Karl was with the Seattle law firm of Bogle & Gates from 1972 to 1991. While there, he served as lead counsel representing regional, national, and international industrial and financial clients in a wide variety of financing activities.
His most recent position with Bogle & Gates was partner and head of the firm's corporate finance and securities practice group. Karl served as a captain in the Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969.
Karl has been actively involved in professional and community service organizations for over 30 years. He has held a number of leadership positions in both the Washington State and American Bar Associations, and is currently Chairman of the ABA's Standing Committee on Technology and Information Systems.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and is a member of the Advisory Council of Cornell Law School. Karl is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Seattle Opera and is currently President of the Rotary Club of Seattle.
