John Dunbar

John Dunbar is a partner at Ball Janik LLP in Portland. He has handled many complex trials and appeals in the state and federal courts.

His cases have included disputes involving environmental cleanup, franchises, distribution agreements, construction defects, and trade secrets.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame (A.B., with High Honors, 1979), Mr. Dunbar earned his J.D. degree in 1984, with honors, from the University of Washington, where he was Executive Managing Editor of the Washington Law Review.

From 1984 to 1986, Mr. Dunbar was a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Owen Panner, U.S. District Court, District of Oregon. He is admitted to practice in Oregon, Washington, Illinois, and several federal courts.
