Jan Peterson
Jan Eric Peterson has been a partner in the Seattle law firm of Peterson, Young, Putra, Fletcher, Zeder, Massong & Knopp since its founding in 1973. Mr. Peterson is Past President of the Washington State Bar Association (2001).
His practice focuses on personal injury, medical negligence, and product liability. He was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association in 1999.
He is Past President of the Damage Attorneys Round Table; WSTLA President, '82-'83; Past President of the Washington Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates; has served on the Board of Directors for the Legal Foundation of Washington; is a past delegate of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America; and is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
He is listed in Best Lawyers in America and by Seattle Magazine as among the best lawyers in Seattle.
A graduate of Stanford University, he received a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington in 1969. He served two years as staff counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington and prior to that was an OEO Legal Services neighborhood lawyer. He entered private practice in 1972 as an associate of Daniel Sullivan before founding his current firm.
