Douglas J. Ende
Douglas J. Ende is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and the University of Washington School of Law.
He was a law clerk for the Honorable Rosselle Pekelis at Division I of the Court of Appeals, an associate with Lane Powell Spears Lubersky in its Seattle office, a staff attorney at the Washington Appellate Defender Association, and a member of the faculty of the University of Washington School of Law, where he was voted Professor of the Year in 1991.
Subsequently, as managing partner of the Vashon Island law firm of Ende, Subin & Philip, Mr. Ende's practice focused on criminal and civil appeals in Washington.
In 1998, Mr. Ende joined the staff at the Washington State Bar Association, first in the Office of Disciplinary Counsel, currently as Professional Responsibility Counsel and Assistant General Counsel.
He has served as head coach for the U.W. National Appellate Advocacy Team, Chair of the King County Bar Association Professionalism Committee, a WSBA bar examiner, on the Board of Directors of the Washington Courts Historical Society, as Reporter to the WSBA Committee for the Evaluation of the Rules of Professional Conduct ("Ethics 2003"), and staff liaison to the WSBA Court Rules and Procedures Committee.
He is co-author of several volumes of West's Washington Practice: 15A Washington Handbook on Civil Procedure (with Karl B. Tegland), and 13A & B Criminal Law (with Seth A. Fine). In 2003 his poetry was featured aboard King County Metro Transit buses.
