Deborah Rutt

Dr. Deborah Rutt has made a life study of communication. Drawing from years of experience as a speech consultant, teacher, researcher and therapist, Dr. Rutt is an expert at understanding the needs of the communication situation.

She helps her clients in business organizations and the legal field identify what an audience needs to hear, and then works with speakers to deliver messages with impact.

Deborah provides a variety of services to attorneys including witness preparation, focus group research, supplemental juror questionnaire design, voir dire design, jury selection, and consultation on courtroom exhibits, opening statements and closing arguments.

In addition, Deborah's training as a clinical psychotherapist qualifies her to address unique factors of speakers, as well as the psychology of jurors.

Deborah is member of the American Society of Trial Consultants (ASTC), and is a regular contributor to the ethics committee. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies and Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa, and a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from Columbia University, New York.
