Arthur Harrigan
After three years as Assistant District Legal Officer in the 13th Coast Guard District, Art Harrigan joined Lane Powell Moss & Miller in 1971 and has practiced commercial litigation since. Danielson Harrigan Leyh & Tollefson was formed in 1986.
Art's practice has included representation of owners, contractors and design professionals (e.g., defense of design team in Kingdome construction litigation, Seattle Convention Center; of King County in action relating to new jail) and sports litigation (representing King County in actions to retain the Mariners and later the Seahawks in Seattle).
Other major cases include:
- three community property/dissolution cases one of which involved over one billion dollars
- accounting/audit disputes including defending FDIC against a claim by First Interstate Bank based on an audit
- real estate disputes including representing Sabey Corporation in several matters
- securities litigation including current representation of Naveen Jain in several matters
- technology litigation including current representation of a satellite business in a claim against a Boeing subsidiary
- pipeline industry representation including current defense of civil actions against Olympic Pipe Line Company arising from the Bellingham accident of June 10, 1999
- and representation of several major law firms in various matters.
Art has taught Continuing Legal Education courses in litigation; conducted a one-day mock antitrust trial for an ABA seminar in advocacy; and has spoken at the ABA Forum on Construction Law in San Francisco. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
